My husband and I are getting older and wanted more freedom in our lives. Our kids suggested moving to a condo. I was not sure I liked the idea, as most of the condos I saw, for sale, were older and too small, plus they needed too many renovations. We wanted a new home that required little or no maintenance, in a lovely tree-lined neighborhood, in a quiet location close to Holland, Saugatuck, Lake MI & Lake Macatawa, because we are boaters and needed a marina nearby. THEY WERE NEW AND AT A PRICE WE COULD AFFORD!! Susan told us we could pick out our condo building site, the floor plan, wall colors, flooring, cabinets, appliances, lighting, everything. WOW, were we impressed. We asked around and everyone told us that they did not have those options when they bought their new condo. The condo we wanted had a lower level that could be finished so our grandkids and great grandkids could stay overnight and my entire family could come over for special days & holidays. This is just what we were looking for. No more work taking care of a home & yard maintenance plus we have the freedom to come & go as we please with no worries. The neighbors became our friends.
