In the Sept. 14, 2017, Holland Sentinel an article by Austin Metz entitled: Ottawa County Business Booming, the Business Intelligence Report compares the West Michigan region to the Midwest.
According to the report, the West Michigan Lakeshore Region is ahead of the U.S. Midwest in both sales and business growth. After talking with company leaders, it found that 94% of those surveyed in the area said sales were either increasing or stable, compared to 66 percent of U.S. Midwest companies.
The U.S. Midwest includes Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, and Wisconsin.
The report found that in West Michigan, 75 percent of surveyed businesses said they plan to expand in the next three years compared to 50 percent of companies in West Michigan.
