Who says homes don’t sell in the winter!
Many gainsayers complain that homes do not sell in the winter. They are the ones who have a problem selling a home in the winter. Winter is a fantastic time for sellers. For example, we listed a home in Fennville in January of 2019. It sold in 3 days for over full price with no inspections. The sellers had three offers from which to choose.
Why would you want to sell this winter? Buyer demand is strong. Buyers are still looking for their dream home no matter what time of the year it is. Many times buyers compete for the same home. According to the National Association of Realtors, the median days on the market for a winter listing is only 33 days on the market.
There is less competition. Many sellers are afraid to sell in the winter so the number of homes listed is fewer than in the spring and summer months. The number of buyers has not gone down so when a home is listed in the winter, it has more competition and usually sells faster.
If you are looking to move up, the time to move is now. Interest rates are rising and will probably go even higher which means your mortgage payments will also be higher. Home prices are expected to appreciate by 4.8% over the next year causing your next home to cost you more not only in mortgage payments but also in asking price.
The time for moving up to a luxury home will never be better. Is it worth waiting? Which is more important, money or your family? The time is now when it comes for you and your family to move up and start living the life you desire.
You need to start living the life you deserve. Look at the reason you decided to place your current home on the market, too small, too big, outdated, cost too much to repair, too far from work. etc. Is it worth waiting to move? Write down your pros and cons and make the decision that is best for you and your family.
